Another Deadly Bumper Sticker

Mr Brown said the incident reminds us that Britain faces "a serious and continuous threat" and the public "need to be alert" at all times.

Yet, the Democrat Partisans in the USA are telling everyone, this sincere concern for terrorism is simply fear mongering.

They tell us not to worry about the 'nuisance'.

Did they bother to remind the Terrorists?
Police were last night hunting a suspected al-Qaida-inspired terrorist cell after the discovery of two "Iraqi style" car bombs, which UK officials said were designed to cause mass murder. One was outside a London nightclub, and a second nearby.

Only luck and probable faults in the bombs' construction meant that the first device, inside a metallic green Mercedes, could be disarmed, while the second, in a blue Mercedes 280E, failed to explode. Police say both were capable of causing severe casualties and were intended to have been detonated remotely, most likely by a mobile phone.

Counter-terrorism officials said the first device - made up of 60 litres of petrol, several propane gas cylinders, nails and a detonation mechanism - was similar to those used by al-Qaida in Iraq.

Amazing...

Meanwhile, as Radical Muslim Militants plot more death?

The Democrat Party is trying to give these Monsters habeas corpus.

'Washington, DC – House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-MO) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) introduced legislation today which would uphold the principle of habeas corpus by amending existing law to allow individuals detained, often for many years without formal charges, to have their day in court.'

Insanity...

But do not forget!

The Liberal Democrats are also trying to aid these Terrorists, by forcing the Freed World's surrender in Afghanistan and Iraq.

'But Rep. Diane Watson (D-Calif.), a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and a staunch opponent of the war in Iraq, said that it is time for the U.S. military to start leaving Afghanistan and the Middle East altogether.'

Imbecility...

Osama must be thrilled.

No wonder Terrorists support the election of Democrats in the USA.

'THE PARTY OF TREASON'

The leader of the Hezb-e-Islami militant group also touts the Republican Party defeat in last month's U.S. midterm elections as a victory for militants fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.

"It seems that every bullet that mujahedeen had fired toward the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan has turned into a vote against Bush..."

The Big Freeze

Slamming on the brakes...

The Senate has refused to advance the Immigration Bill.

Republican foes of the measure argued that the American public was broadly united in opposition to the bill and had made its views known by flooding Congress with phone calls and e-mails.

“What part of ‘no’ don’t we understand?,” asked Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who said the immigration fight had “reengaged the American people.”

The GOP listened to it's vocal Base again, just like it did before the 2006 Election, putting a hold on comprehensive Immigration Reform.

Probably stopping some poor law, along with needed efforts.

Sincere Immigration problems will remain...

Predictably, the more amendments defeated to improve the Bill, increased the chances for it to be blocked.

Will these Republicans will be thanked for the effort?

Or are the most strident amongst the Conservatives, going to encourage the Liberal Democrat Agenda again, by boycotting support for the GOP in 2008?

The vitriol, alarmism, hyperbole, diatribe, angst, slander, was sadly overt in this regretful experience.

Many proved to be truly ugly.

Often vilifying some of the finest we have serving Our interests in Washington, who are trying their best to solve serious problems facing this Country.

It is never over, until it is over, and then it has just begun.

This fight to defend this fine Country will continue.

Meanwhile?

More from the mighty Captain:
'So what should happen now?

The problems of immigration did not disappear with the failure of the cloture vote a few moments ago. Congress needs to act to resolve them -- but they need to do so in a manner that respects the processes of representative democracy, and in a manner that builds the confidence of Americans rather than fuel their cynicism.

They need to address border security and visa-program problems immediately. Congress has left these problems simmering for over 21 years.'

HIDING MEMORIALS ?

SHOW HIM THE DOOR

Patrick Ruffini is outstanding...

Here's his interview with a fine Challenge for the tired Hagel:
"PR: Challenging an incumbent is always daunting. How's it going so far?

JB: It's going spectacularly well by almost any measure. We've gotten a steady stream of emails from Nebraskans and even others out-state, saying "How do I help? How do I help you from Minnesota, how do I help you from Arizona?" And of course Nebraskans who feel very passionately about their state and the fact that they elected a Republican to act like one.

Frankly, that's what kicked me into this race in the first place. Initially when Hagel did his strange little press conference on March 12 when he said, "I don't know what I'm going to do," and the national media was very angry and Nebraskans were very embarrassed and the whole thing was a bit odd, I came out a couple of days later and said, "Yeah, I'll think about running, but I won't run against Hagel." I had always been a Hagel supporter, but I was just growing more and more frustrated.

In 2004, we had to listen to John Kerry in the debates quoting Hagel to our President. It was painful for Nebraskans, and more and more he was breaking with the President, and more and more he was doing it in a way that was an attempt to embarrass the President and the Republican Party. In March of this year, he votes with the Democrats on the strict timeline for troop withdrawal, and he talks about the impeachment of the President, and I just had had it, and thought, "You know what, I'm in a position to do something about this." Conservatives need a voice. And so ultimately in early April I decided I was going to run."

Impressive...

What was that about?

'Reaping What You Sow'?

Just wish we could get some serious talent to confront Schumer, Kerry, Boxer, Obey, Conyers, Durbin, Pelosi, etc., etc...

INTERESTING

Thank You Mr. Mayor

"Islamic terrorists killed more than 500 Americans before Sept. 11. Many people think the first attack on America was on Sept. 11, 2001. It was not. It was in 1993," said the former New York mayor.

Giuliani argued that Clinton treated the World Trade Center bombing as a criminal act instead of a terrorist attack, calling it "a big mistake" that emboldened other strikes on the Khobar Towers housing complex in Saudi Arabia, in Kenya and Tanzania and later on the USS Cole while docked in Yemen in 2000.

"The United States government, then President Clinton, did not respond," Giuliani said. "(Osama) bin Laden declared war on us. We didn't hear it."

In hindsight, Giuliani said, maybe it's all clearer now, "but now is now, and there is no reason to go back into denial, and that is essentially what the Democratic candidates for president want to do: they want to go back, to put the country in reverse to the 1990s.

"I'm not blaming anybody back then," Giuliani said later in the day at a campaign stop at a Jewish temple in Rockville, Md. "What I am saying is, I do blame people after Sept. 11. Now you have to get it."

REMAINING CIVIL

Yes, it is truly hard to trust the Senate...
(One of this poster's concerns with Mr. Thompson).

However, many are ready to sell the Farm, frustrations being understandable, but it doesn't equate with the fine Conservative strength to be alarmist while facing another Senate Debate.

So much more road to travel, perhaps with potential silver linings.

Powerline has a statement provided by a fine Senator here:
"The cloture motion I supported today was to move ahead with the debate on the immigration bill. This is the first of many votes that we will take on this bill. I did so because the immigration crisis facing our country is too important to be ignored and I think we in the Senate have a responsibility to address it. Nevertheless, I believe work needs to be done to improve this bill.

I have an amendment to end the practice of sanctuary cities which I believe deserves an up or down vote in the Senate. I think this is critical to restoring the rule of law to immigration. 40 percent of illegal immigrants in the country today have overstayed their visas – meaning that even if we had the best border security in the world, they would still be here because they entered legally. Taking the gag off local police officers and allowing them to share information about immigration with federal authorities is a key part of closing this loophole.

Senators Graham and Kyl have a couple of other amendments that I also look forward to supporting. These would include such steps as mandatory minimum prison sentences and deportation for visa overstays, enhancing background checks for illegal immigrants, and strengthening the requirement for illegal immigrants to go to their home countries first to apply for visas.

Once the Senate has voted on the 24 pending amendments, I will reassess what is in the bill. If it is still inadequate, I will oppose the bill at that time. It is important to note that we will have an additional procedural vote after the amendments which will similarly require 60 votes. This is an important factor to remember.

I am prepared to kill this bill if it is not strong enough on enforcement. I am prepared to support it if it is."

The vitriol from many is so overt, it is now comedic.

For example, a poster on a popular web site, has now declared they are abandoning the GOP ... (perhaps for the fourth time)?

Well, the Conservative Republicans in the House & Senate are the only ones holding back the passage of this Immigration Reform.

So by giving up on the GOP, the angst are actually surrendering.

Constructive influence with resolve can do wonders...

Before the election of 2006, the Republican Party delivered on a Border Fence Bill which the President signed, and they weren't rewarded for the effort.

Politicians in Washington embrace what wins elections.

It is no wonder in Nov. 2006, they did not receive a very clear message about the direction to take regarding Immigration Reform.

For the Democrat Partisans won a Majority in the US Congress, and they remain opposed to any National Security efforts.

"Show me a 50-foot wall and I'll show you a 51-foot ladder..." declared Democrat Janet Napolitano.

It is ironic, for the most strident amongst us have admitted to boycotting the vote last fall, thus empowering the exact opposite of their desires.

However, even if these new Immigration Reforms were passed into law, it would certainly not be the end.

Just another beginning...

The defense of this fine Nation, a beacon of Freedom for Millions, will continue long after we have past on.

We must remain resolved, patient, reasoned, strong.

The video was made by the Army of Islam, a group with apparent links to al Qaeda which claimed responsibility for snatching Mr Johnston from a street in Gaza City on March 12.'

Welcome To The Race

"How conservative is Fred Thompson?"

Former Senator Fred Thompson is a very good Man, and is sincerely welcome to the US Presidential Campaign for 2008.

Although the hype might not truly fit the Actor:
'Bill Frist, who defeated Democratic incumbent Jim Sasser, was elected to the Senate from Tennessee the same year (1994) as Mr. Thompson, who won the seat vacated in 1993 by then-Vice President Gore. During the eight years they represented Tennessee together, Mr. Frist compiled an ACU rating of 89.3 percent, making Mr. Thompson "the liberal senator from the Volunteer state." Moreover, during Mr. Thompson's last two years in the Senate (2001-02), his ACU ratings (84 and 89) were well below Mr. Frist's (100 and 100). Just as Mr. Thompson was departing, Mr. Frist became Senate majority leader, where he maintained his ACU lifetime (87.8 percent) edge over his former colleague.

Another conservative gauge is the annual Senate vote rating compiled by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. For the 1995-2002 period, Mr. Frist compiled an average Chamber rating of 97.5 percent, more than 10 points higher than Mr. Thompson's 86.9 lifetime Chamber rating. There was much speculation that Mr. Frist would seek the presidential nomination after leaving the Senate last year. Interestingly, the same conservative cohorts that are now encouraging Mr. Thompson showed zero enthusiasm for a Frist candidacy.'

Years ago, Fred Thompson joined John McCain's Campaign for the Presidency in 2000, which strongly opposed tax reduction.

Some of this past concerns this poster, as well as the lack of CEO experience, such as being a Governor, a Mayor, etc.

Ironically, strident Conservatives currently vilifying this President and the GOP for being too moderate, strongly favor Fred Thompson.

They often threaten to abandon the Republican Party.

Many already have, foolishly pulling a reverse 'Bull Moose Movement' back in November of 2006, empowering the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Boxer, Murtha, Clinton, Obey, and the Liberal Agenda, by boycotting the vote.

* Some of the angst are actually proud of the misguided effort:
"...we don't need the GOP to win. We improved Congress last November..."

Empowering the negligent Democrat Folly is never the answer.

It is interesting, as the most bitter Conservative elements fail to realize Mr. Thompson is a Republican with a Moderate Conservative streak.

It is unfair, to demean fine Public Servants like Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, etc., who have similar Conservative Credentials as Fred Thompson, and hold proven records as excellent Leaders.

Fred Thompson could make an outstanding Leader of this fine Nation.

Deeply thankful the GOP has such impressive talent running for Office.

2008 will be a very challenging race...

Hoping Conservatives select, support, and unite behind the best possible Candidate for Our Nation's future.

Do Not Repeat This History

Bull Moose Madness is in the air, and on this very day long ago...
"On the evening of June 22, 1912, former President Theodore Roosevelt asked his supporters to leave the floor of the Republican National Convention in Chicago. Roosevelt maintained that President William Taft had allowed fraudulent seating of delegates in order to capture the presidential nomination from progressive forces within the Party. Taft's poor showing against Roosevelt in the primaries, the latter contended, evidenced popular support for a more progressive Republican agenda.

The rift between progressive and conservative wings of the Republican Party was apparent even before Roosevelt left office. Roosevelt's support of government regulation, his groundbreaking efforts in conservation and consumer protection, and his willingness to work with organized labor alienated pro-business party members. When Roosevelt tapped William Howard Taft as his successor in 1908, he had assumed Taft would continue to support his agenda. Although Taft's record suggested a leader sympathetic to reform, the former jurist's quiet demeanor and attention to the letter of the law irritated Roosevelt and disappointed Republican progressives.

Republican progressives reconvened in Chicago's Orchestra Hall and endorsed the formation of a national progressive party. When formally launched later that summer, the new Progressive Party chose Roosevelt as its presidential nominee. Questioned by reporters, Roosevelt said he felt as strong as a "bull moose." Thenceforth known as the "Bull Moose Party," the Progressives promised to increase federal regulation and protect the welfare of ordinary people.

The 1912 presidential campaign was bitterly fought and easily won.

With the Republican Party divided, progressive Democrat Woodrow Wilson captured the presidency handily.

Although he failed to become chief executive again, Roosevelt succeeded in his vendetta against Taft who received just twenty-three percent of the popular vote compared to Roosevelt's twenty-seven percent."

There are some foolishly playing this game all over again.
Ceding this fine Country over to the mindless Liberal Democrat Party...

Such fun posted on the Drudge Report today...

First, the fine Mr. York writes:
Hillary Clinton was booed again this morning at the Take Back America conference, sponsored by the lefty activist group Campaign for America's Future here in Washington. At this same conference last year, Sen. Clinton was booed for her position on the war in Iraq. This morning, she was enthusiastically received as she bashed the Bush administration - "a stunning record of secrecy and corruption" - but the crowd became less friendly when, at the end of her speech, she turned to Iraq.

"We're going to end the war in Iraq and finally bring home the troops," she said as a number of Code Pink protesters stood up in the audience. When she declared, "The American military has done its job," boos began to be heard around the room. As the boos increased, Sen. Clinton raised her voice. "The American military has succeeded," she said, to more boos. "It is the Iraqi government that has failed to make the tough decisions." Still more boos.

'Bloomberg Leaves GOP'

The Narcissist called Bloomy actually endorsed Hillary Clinton for the Senate in NY, after he raised Taxation on massive levels.

The same fool also stood on stage with Rev. Al Sharpton, and declared some Policemen as 'guilty', before they had a fair trial.

Mr. Bloomberg could not have won the Democrat Nomination for the Mayoral Campaign, thus he exploited the popularity of the legendary REPUBLICAN, Mr. Rudy Giuliani, who made NYC shine again.

This Egotistical Populist who will say and do anything to further himself, just made the GOP a better Party by leaving.

UPDATE: The mighty Captain...
'Republicans should look forward to his independent bid. Reid, Pelosi Agree: "We're Incompetent"

Enemy Press Reuters released a crybaby, footstamping, whinefest by Democrat so-called "leaders" complaining about their inability to get anything done. The historically low approval ratings given the Democrat led Congress shows that the American people misjudged the actual plans the extremist Dems like Land Office Harry and Queen Burkha wanted to implement.

The failed Congressional "leadership" of the Democrat party also badly misjudged exactly what Americans were unhappy about concerning Iraq. Americans want to finish the trouble in Iraq with victory. Sadly, the anti-American (not anti-war) leftists who control the Party of the Donkey thought that dissatisfaction with the war meant Americans just wanted out. Peace through victory is what America wants, not the Democrats' peace through surrender.'

Carter Loves Terrorists

Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate who was addressing a conference of Irish human rights officials, said the Bush administration's refusal to accept the 2006 election victory of Hamas was "criminal."

Carter said Hamas, besides winning a fair and democratic mandate that should have entitled it to lead the Palestinian government, had proven itself to be far more organized in its political and military showdowns with the Fatah movement of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Recognized by the misguided UN as a brutal Terrorist Organization, Hamas is obsessed with the destruction of Israel.

More from the Captain...
'What kind of world leader would instruct the international community to engage with Hamas, even though it just committed an armed insurrection against the Palestinian Authority? Who among the world's experts would argue that the coup d'etat legitimized their claim to speak for the Palestinian people?

...So let's get this straight. Bush's refusal to engage with a terrorist group -- one that has long been on the State Department list of outlawed terrorist organizations -- is "criminal". Wouldn't it literally have been a criminal act to engage with Hamas? Federal law prohibits such direct contacts and the transmission of aid to terrorist groups such as Hamas.'

The Big Picture

Prepare For Battle

The mighty Powerline:
"Bush plans to veto the homeland security appropriations bill nearing final passage, followed by vetoes of eight more money bills sent him by the Democratic-controlled Congress.

That constitutes a veto onslaught of historic proportions from a president who did not reject a single bill during his first term. Of the 12 appropriations bills for fiscal 2008, only three will be signed by the president in the form shaped by the House. What's more, Bush correctly claimed that he has the House votes needed to sustain these vetoes."

Does anyone remember the spending outcry after the 2004 election?

While this President was wisely targeting the big liberal fish of Social Security, many outraged lost sight of the big picture.

And yet, where are all those strident voices, condemning the massive spending increases the Democrat Majority is now pushing?

On a number of message boards prior to the elections of NOV. 2006, many liberals played the facade game, pretending to be 'libertarian', hoping to undermine support for the GOP.

They actually bragged about their success, happy to have fooled a number of Conservatives, after Nancy Pelosi became Speaker.

This poster used to joke, 'this Rove Conspiracy must be working, because Liberal Democrats are suddenly opposed to spending...'

Now we don't hear anything about it, as the MSM and the Democrat Partisanas are rather silent about their spending dreams.

Will Conservatives fall for it again in 2008?

"That is not what has created the problem. What has created the problem is that the people we are fighting have decided to give us a problem.

"What they have decided is that if they can hang on long enough in Iraq, or in Afghanistan, or anywhere else, then we will lose the will."

He said that Islamist militants purporting that Muslims were being oppressed by the West had a "difficult argument to make" if Muslims were being given a free vote for the first time.

"If we end up saying that because these people are committing these acts of terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan, that we shouldn't have done the removal of Saddam or the removal of the Taliban, then we are making a fundamental mistake about our own future, about security, about the values we should be defending in the world."

Interesting

'...if his party nominates Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York for president, the 52-year-old Democrat plans to vote for her Republican opponent.

"It's a personal thing," Cole said. "I don't like her. I think she's condescending and arrogant, even worse than Al Gore, who has no personality."

It is a paradox of the 2008 presidential race. By a wide margin, several polls show, voters want a Democrat to win — yet when offered head-to-head contests of leading announced candidates, many switch allegiance to the Republican.

In a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll conducted this month, this dynamic was most clearly evident with Clinton.

When registered voters were asked which party they would like to win the White House, they preferred a Democrat over a Republican by 8 percentage points. But in a race pitting Clinton against former New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, the Republican was favored by 10 percentage points.

Clinton's showing against Giuliani was the starkest example of how the general Democratic edge sometimes narrows or vanishes when voters are given specific candidates to choose between.

The poll also showed Clinton trailing when matched against two other Republicans, Sen. John McCain of Arizona and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. The deficits, however, were within the survey's margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

These results, as well as follow-up interviews of poll respondents, reflect the array of difficulties that Clinton could face as the Democratic nominee.

Plenty of time remains for Clinton to temper resistance to her candidacy. But for now, her failure to match her party's generic advantage underscores the primacy of personal appeal in a presidential race, regardless of political context.

"You give someone a name, and they automatically associate it with a specific set of pros and cons," said Dean Spiliotes, a political science professor at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire. "With a candidate as well-known as Hillary Clinton, that's going to cause some problems."

Conversations with a dozen Times/Bloomberg poll respondents, including Cole, exposed a number of those problems, above all a sour aftertaste from controversies of her White House years with President Clinton.

"I just don't feel like she has the integrity to do the right thing," said retired service-station owner Richard James, 62, a Democrat who lives in Herriman, Utah.'

What remains fascinating, the MSM and the Democrat Party Machine, seem willing to return the Clintons to the White House.

The rest of the Country doesn't seem to have the same desire...

7 UK Muslims Jailed For Plot To Bomb Wall Street

Seven Britons linked to a plot to blow up U.S. financial institutions, including the New York Stock Exchange, and stage a series of attacks in Britain were jailed for a total of 136 years by a London court on Friday.

Prosecutors said the men were part of a group headed by senior al Qaeda operative Dhiren Barot and described as “one of the most dangerous and ambitious terrorist cells ever to operate in this country”.

Special diddos to Stilettos in the Sand.

* BUMP FOR HARRY:
"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Marine Gen. Peter Pace, the outgoing chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, "incompetent" during an interview Tuesday with a group of liberal bloggers, a comment that was never reported.

Reid made similar disparaging remarks about Army Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, said several sources familiar with the interview."

"...the same Harry Reid who voted to confirm Petraeus in January!"

Reid is incompetent.

There are rocks, with more sense than Harry Reid.

What class...

On a related note, this poster watched Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer briefing the MSM on Wednesday, after leaving a White House meeting.

It was like watching a very poor comedy routine.

The delusional Speaker and the demented Chucky, made it quite clear they blamed the White House for all of the problems in the Middle East.

As if the US Armed Forces, who liberated and are fighting for the Iraqi People, are responsible for the culture of violence fostered for decades by the Palestinians.

Isn't it odd, these Fools will not mention Iran, the horrid Nation responsible for funding Terrorism throughout the Region?

“Iran has been the country that has been in many ways a kind of central banker for terrorism in important regions like Lebanon through Hezbollah in the Middle East, in the Palestinian Territories, and we have deep concerns about what Iran is doing in the south of Iraq.”

Hamas and Hezbollah must be deeply confused, listening to the likes of Nancy and Chuck, for they receive their blood money from Tehran.

Sen. Schumer and Ms. Pelosi believe all the troubles in the World would simply disappear, if the USA were to run away from Iraq.

But the USA was not in Iraq, when we were attacked on 9-11?

(It is truly amusing to watch the same Jesters, who maintained there was absolutely no relation between the GWOT and Iraq, now connecting the newly Freed Iraq to everything...)

Who are they kidding?

The so-called 'reporters' never ask these crooked Partisans a relevant question, for fear of exposing the game.

Imagine, an ethical journalist asking, "Are Democrats ignoring the violence fostered by Iran in the Middle East?"

The Democrats suggest, we would be best served returning to the 8 negligent years prior to 9-11, when the USA ignored dangerous threats, and treated the murder of Americans by foriegn terrorists as merely a criminal matter.

Pelosi and Schumer repeatedly referenced 'stability' in the Middle East, and it is certain we will increasingly hear this word promoted by the Democrat Population and the unethical MSM.

The Democrat Party seems to prefer the old oppressive Arab World, exporting an industry of terrorism for more decades to come, playing future appeasement games with killers named Yasser.

Maybe Nancy can visit sponsors of terrorism in Syria again?

But in reality, this entire charade is simply the same old, unethical Democrat swindle for power.

The Democrat Party's self serving political greed knows no bounds.

Their effort has no relation to the future of the Free World, the Iraqi People, the destruction of al Qaeda, or future Peace around the Globe.

The modern Democrat Party would be willing to embrace the Plague, if they felt it enhanced their own personal opportunity.

Democrats continue to be embarrassing...

Will the American Public enable their folly again in 2008?

Hillary Rodham Is Concerning

The Hillary Chronicles: Worse Than You Thought
Two new biographies shed new light on Senator Clinton.

By Byron York

'...Each book contains page after page of new details, some of them so far ignored in the press, that reveal Hillary Rodham Clinton to be even more secretive, even more politically tin-eared, and even more combative than previously known.

For example, we’ve all heard about the famous War Room of the 1992 Clinton presidential campaign. But Gerth and Van Natta reveal that across the alley from the War Room was a more secretive effort, headed by Hillary and known as the Defense Team, that really got into the down-and-dirty stuff.

The Defense Team’s job was to knock down any allegation, no matter how well founded, about Bill Clinton’s girlfriends, his avoidance of the draft, Whitewater, Hillary Clinton’s legal work — anything that might hurt the campaign. And to do it by any means necessary, legal or not: Gerth and Van Natta report that on one occasion Mrs. Clinton listened to a “secretly recorded audiotape” of Clinton adversaries talking on the phone about the next possible bimbo eruption.

“Bill’s supporters monitored frequencies used by cell phones,” Gerth and Van Natta add, “and the tape was made during one of those monitoring sessions.”

Who knew that Mrs. Clinton was an early advocate of warrantless wiretapping?'

The Folly Continues

'This week on the House floor Democrats in Congress will begin their efforts in earnest to hide pork-barrel projects from voters, budget watchdog groups, and Republicans who challenge wasteful spending.

They’re gutting rules designed to help voters know where their tax dollars are going and creating massive slush funds for secret earmarks. And while they shut voters out of the budget process, they’re spending more with each passing day – an extra $105 billion so far this year alone. With the first four major appropriations bill on the House floor this week, Republicans are saying, “Enough is enough.”

Last fall, Democratic leaders repeatedly promised to lead Congress in a more “open” and “honest” fashion. Now they’re not only breaking those promises, they’re actively moving in the opposite direction.'

The Boom Continues

"Budget surpluses have largely stemmed from higher than expected tax collections — corporate tax revenues alone were 11 percent higher than budget estimates — and booming local economies. There has also been some relief in Medicaid spending, which fell from an 11 percent annual growth rate to something closer to 7 percent in the past few years.

More than 40 states have found themselves with more money than they planned as they wound down their regular sessions. Governors in 23 of those states proposed tax cuts, and a majority of states with surpluses chose to shore up their roads, schools and rainy day funds. For example, lawmakers in Utah agreed to a $1 billion bond act to fix state roads and add lane miles, while in Idaho state spending on education outpaced that on Medicaid for the first time in 20 years."

They can thank President Bush for tax reduction before and after 9-11.

Low taxation is essential...

Yet, the mindless Democrat Party plans to raise the taxation on all Americans as soon as possible.

A corrupt Bill Clinton promised not to increase taxation in 1992, and quickly broke this fake pledge upon entering the Office.

The Clintons inherited healthy growth, provided massive tax increases, and left the Country with a Recession at the end of 8 ugly years.

Will Americans let this happen again in 2008?

Thank You Mr. President

Very thankful for this fine Leader...
He came, he saw, he humbled himself. Never before has the president of America gone out of his way to pay tribute to a gathering of dissidents. The most powerful man on earth acknowledged that these otherwise powerless individuals from five continents possess what he rightly called "an even greater power — the power of conscience."

What had brought President Bush to make this pilgrimage to Prague, en route to the G-8 summit? The answer echoed through the noble vision outlined in his speech — a speech that several seasoned observers of presidential oratory who attended the conference judged to be among the best that Mr. Bush has ever given.

This man, beset by his foes and abandoned by friends, still cares passionately about the love of liberty that inspires men and women to extraordinary self-sacrifice, even if the vision he set out in his second inaugural speech is as far from reality as ever. At one point, he made a wry reference to his own isolation, both among the leaders of the free world, and even within his own administration. Former chairman of the defense policy board advisory committee to George W. Bush, Richard Perle, had earlier reminded us that the president was "coming here to meet with his fellow dissidents." "If standing up for liberty makes me a dissident," Mr. Bush said, "I wear that title with pride."

THE TRUTH

The mighty Anchoress is outstanding:
'Sufferers of Bush Betrayal Syndrome are easy to spot – they are the ones who continually repeat, “Bush Betrayed Us. I Feel So Betrayed! He Betrayed Us!”

I’m one of the few lucky ones, I suppose, because I have never felt betrayed by Bush. He is, still, the same guy he was when I voted for him. You knew, by the way, that George W. Bush favored eventual naturalization for illegal immigrants. He said it when he was Governor of Texas. He said it when you elected him in 2000, and again when you voted him in again in 2004.

Then, in 2005, you said, “fix the long-standing immigration problem and fix it immediately, perfectly and exactly as we tell you to.” (C’mon, you know that’s what you said!) And when Bush responded, “but I’ve been really thinking about this issue since ‘way before I was president – even back when you weren’t thinking about it – and I disagree with your solution and here is why,” and you cried “betrayal.”

But the thing is, you’ve been crying “betrayal” since he nominated Harriet Miers to the SCOTUS. Big Lizard is quite correct in that there seems to be, almost, an impulse to look for betrayal, even when none is there.'

The Money

Surprises via the all powerful Mr. Drudge...
'But a West Coast swing by Mr. Clinton has come up short thus far: It has raised barely half of the $600,000 in “high goal” commitments the campaign had hoped for. (Donations can always come in late.) And Mrs. Clinton’s cocktail party in Columbus, Ohio, was pretty modest: Her “low goal” for the event was $100,000, and actual commitments totaled $98,100 recently.

These details are among a trove of fund-raising data in a confidential document about the 90-odd lunches, dinners and receptions that the campaign planned from April 1 to June 30, as the Clintons escalate a pitched battle with Senator Barack Obama of Illinois for the Democratic war chest (not to mention the party’s nomination).

On paper, the breadth of the Clinton fund-raising operation is apparent in minute splendor: how the campaign courted lawyers in Chicago and bankers in California, and how it has relied particularly heavily this spring on money from gay men and lesbians and Asian-Americans, with two separate fund-raisers involving Fujianese-Americans.'

The incredible amount of money wasted on dishonest politicians is sickening, especially when considering the horrid Clinton Legacy.

Yet, there are warning signs for Hillary Rodham's nightmarish ambition, hoping to 'take things away' from Americans.

Making every one's 'skin crawl' is a real challenge.

Perhaps they need some more Botox, Lies, and Oxyclinton.

What A Surprise

The amazing LGF:
'Ron Paul Supporters Spamming Polls All Over the Web'

Ironically, Liberal Democrats like to play this tired game as well...

In fact, on several popular Conservative Message Boards, Liberals will often pretend to be Libertarian to diminish support for the GOP.

It is surprising, and rather sad, watching some very decent Conservatives fall for the vivid manipulation.

One has to wonder, if the followers of the misguided Mr. Paul, will later support the Republican Nomination for the Presidency in 2008.

OUTSTANDING

“We’ve become increasingly successful, and yet we’ve been increasingly criticized," he said to the crowd about his company. "Sometimes for being too pro-American. Sometimes we’re too pro-Israel. Sometimes too pro-democracy.

"I’ve been quoted as saying, ‘This is a great country.’ A lot of people are trying to get in, nobody’s trying to get out. The press is an essential pillar of that democracy. The press didn’t invent democracy. Democracy invented freedom of the press. So we will investigate anything and find the truth, and report it, but we do not get up every morning, assuming that our country is guilty. We just happen to like democracy."

And he had some choice words for Democratic candidates who have decided not to debate on Fox.

“The candidates that can’t face Fox, can’t face Al Qaeda,” said Mr. Ailes. “And that’s what’s coming.”

The Truth remains painful for Liberal Democrats.

Bottom line?

"The loser was John McCain, the winner was Mitt Romney..."

This Poster believed Rudy G was excellent, and probably won this debate, but Mr. Romney is definately impressive.

There is little doubt, Democrats fear Romney and Giuliani because of their fine quality, conservative basis, and potential electability.

But both Mr. Romney and Mr. Guiliani defy the ugly stereotypes, many liberals often use to vilify Conservative Candidates, to win elections.

Hillary Clinton Lies Again

Another whopper from Ms. Rodham...
"I'm not sure I would have gotten through it without my faith," she said in response to a question about how she dealt with the infidelity.

Is this Hillary's 'faith' in abortion?

Does this mean the 'infidelity' is over?

What is the Clintonian definition of the word 'faith' anyhow?

Or, was the real belief, compelling Ms. Rodham to remain with a sexual predator, all about future wealth and fame?

UPDATE: the mighty Sweetness & Light...
'But is Hillary talking about her faith that the media would cover up for Bill? Her faith that if she just hung in there, she would be President someday?'

Nancy's House

'House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) moved quickly to force the expulsion of Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) from Congress following his indictment Monday on federal corruption charges.'

They should also vote on removing Murtha, Obey, Scott, Meeks, Rangel, Nadler, Maloney, Weiner, Wasserman-Schultz, Wexler, Hastings, Emanuel, Rothman, Lee, Lofgren, Pelosi, Woosley, Kucinich, Kaptur, Waxman, etc., etc., etc.

Deportation could be considered later...

In fact, most Democrats should do the American Public a favor, greatly improving Our Government, by resigning from Office.

Of course, Conservatives could get their act together, for the good of the mighty USA, and remove the mindless Democrats from the Majority in November of 2008.
